Introbiz Expo is Great Success

The Introbiz Expo was held last week at Cardiff City Football Stadium.

On Thursday, 14th November, local businesses visited the venue where they were invited to listen to the inspirational keynote speakers, informative seminars, and browse the hundreds of exhibitors showcasing their products and services.

The Expo welcomed BBC’s The Apprentice winners, Mark Wright and Sian Gabbidon, Microsoft Ireland’s Deidre Bourke, former Welsh rugby union player, Shane Williams, former Welsh footballer, David Cotterill and business mentor, Pat Slattery.

Seminars were hosted by the likes of Google Digital Garage, Gravit-e, Pixafusion Marketing Agency, Growth Stream and many more.

There was a networking breakfast which was sponsored by Growth Stream to kick off the day and a Charity Gala Dinner in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. Held at The Vale Resort, guests enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal, an auction and a raffle as well as entertainment provided by The Voice star, Cai Williams and Alice Mee-Bishop.

The day was a great success and we’d like to take the opportunity to thank each and every exhibitor, keynote speaker, seminar, visitor and member of staff for supporting the Introbiz Expo this year. We hope you all had a great time, and that you have plenty of follow ups to be doing!

Cardiff start-up bringing 5G to businesses following major deal

A Cardiff-based telecommunications start-up is accelerating its growth plans after securing a major deal with a leading law firm in the city.

Blend Telecom, which specialises in providing broadband, mobile and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, will manage more than a hundred mobile phone contracts for commercial law firm Capital Law and provide mobile device management and repairs across the business.

The deal follows the launch of the first ever 5G network in Cardiff – one of only six UK cities to benefit from the upgrade at this stage – which Blend Telecom will look to capitalise on in the coming months.  The start-up will help businesses in Cardiff move from traditional broadband to 5G-based services, led by EE and Vodafone, which could operate at average speeds of 150-200Mbps in the Welsh capital.

According to EE, that’s fast enough to download a film “in seconds rather than minutes”.

Blend Telecom<https://introbiz.co.ukwww.blendtelecom.co.uk/> was established by telecoms expert Jay Birch in January of this year, following 15 years’ experience in the industry, including 10 years at BlackBerry during the smartphone boom where he was an account director.

Jay Birch, founder and managing director of Blend Telecom said: “This deal is an exciting step for Blend Telecom and will enable us to accelerate our growth plans.  We’re looking to bring new talent to the team and work with even more SMEs to explore new telecoms technologies and fulfil their communication needs.

“The launch of 5G in Cardiff has unlocked new potential for businesses here to communicate with existing customers and reach new markets.  We’re here to help them do that quickly, at lower costs and through a local team.”

Capital Law joins a roster of Blend Telecom clients which also includes Advantage Accountancy, Taymec Cleaning Systems and communications agency Working Word.

Rhys Davies, head of IT at Capital Law said: “Blend Telecom took the time to understand our business needs and produced a highly competitive price offering.  They have since negotiated a 50% discount on our mobile contracts and secured new tariffs that allow for data usage, calls and texts at no extra cost in the EU. We work with many clients internationally and that service is proving invaluable.  Blend’s staff are very attentive, knowledgeable and responsive.  They have become one of our key IT partners.”

Blend Telecom is based in Ivor House in the centre of Cardiff and works with B2B clients across a range of sectors.  To learn more, visit blendtelecom.co.uk.
