Huge Success at Introbiz Expo 2018

The Introbiz Expo 2018 was the biggest and most successful business event Wales has seen this year, welcoming Lord Alan Sugar and Grant Cardone to Cardiff.

The day, held on Thursday, 22nd November at the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff saw hundreds of exhibitors showcasing their products and services, thousands of visitors keen to expand their networks and prospects as well as countless seminars hosted by the likes of Google Digital Garage, WalesOnline, Aspen Waite and GPS Financial.

The day was filled with all sorts of events, ranging from a networking breakfast, a speed networking session, a VIP networking lunch hosted by Lord Alan Sugar and an exclusive VIP after party to close a highly successful day for Welsh business.

The networking breakfast began at 7am and included a breakfast provided by award-winning catering company Spiros Caterers and a Q&A session with WRU Chief Executive, Martyn Phillips and BBC broadcaster and event compere, Sean Holley.

The VIP networking lunch was a new addition to the event for 2018 and was sponsored by Hunter Jones Investments. Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch and the addition of a Q&A session with Lord Sugar and a highly insightful presentation given by Grant Cardone. Other keynote speakers included BBC’s The Apprentice winners, Mark Wright and Alana Spencer, Lisa Cameron, Paul McFadden, Matt Soltys, Emma Cooper, Giovanni Malacrino, and Avnish Goyal.

The VIP after party was held at The Vale Resort and its aim was to raise funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. A silent auction, auction and raffle was enjoyed, a delicious 3-course meal and plenty of live entertainment. The event was attended by global entrepreneur, Grant Cardone and his wife Elena. In total, we raised over £10,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity who work to give a lifetime of support to soldiers and veterans from the British Army, and their immediate families when they are in need.

The day was a great success with thousands of new business connections made, over a millions pounds’ worth of business has already been secured and all brands have been promoted across a number of social and marketing platforms, ensuring maximum exposure for the exhibitors, speakers and seminar hosts. The event was filmed by BBC Wales and WalesOnline and was broadcast on television.

Tracey and Paul Smolinski, owners of Introbiz said; “We’re absolutely thrilled with the scale and magnitude of this year’s event. The feedback we’ve had has been truly overwhelming and we love hearing about the successes that have occurred due to the Expo. Our team worked hard behind the scenes to deliver an outstanding event and we’d like to thank everyone, including our members, exhibitors, speakers, seminar holders sponsors and everyone else we’ve worked with in order to make this event happen. • Having a good worth ethic is very important!

Everyone within a business should have a good work ethic to ensure that the business can function to the highest standard it can. Many characteristics/factors show good work ethic such as reliability, dependability, productivity, teamwork, self-discipline and more!

  • Build relationships

Lord Sugar believes that business is built on relationships and are essential to becoming successful. Ensure that you network with everyone you come across to build long-lasting business relationships whether this is through social media platforms such as LinkedIn or networking events. Take a look at our networking events, here.

  • Knowledge is key

Having extensive knowledge of the business industry and your specific sector is extremely important to ensure that your business can compete with competitors and being aware of new trends within the industry.

It is important to see how your business compares within the same industry specifically financially as Lord Sugar believes; ‘even just having a basic understanding of a company’s credit rating and financial status can alert you to potential issues and arm you with the knowledge you need to form a more secure relationship, based on trust and transparency’

  • Be honest and transparent

People will respect you much more if you’re honest and transparent with your intentions and your business. Be transparent with those who use your service and those you partner with, this will in time allow people to trust you more and build stronger relationships.

Lord Sugar says, ‘Make it easy for those you do business with to understand what they are getting and what to expect and you’ll be in a much stronger position to work together effectively.’

  • Build a strong team

Ensuring your team or those who you partner with are strong team players and have the right knowledge to take on responsibilities for certain aspects of the business where you may be lacking in or haven’t got the time to oversee. Lord Sugar says, ‘Sometimes you need partners who are competent in areas of the business that you’re not good at.’
