We absolutely love Beaujolais Day – so much so that every year, we celebrate by hosting one of the biggest events in Cardiff. For the eighth year running, we’re hosting our Beaujolais event at the Madeira Restaurante where we invite our members and visitors to join us for the festivities.
If you’ve never heard of Beaujolais Day, then here’s a bit more information. Beaujolais Nouveau is a type of red wine that is harvested across France. Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01am, mere weeks after the wine’s grapes have been harvested. The wine is meant to be drunk young and due to the quick fermentation process, tastes clean and tasty.
After the wine is released, the race is well and truly on to get the produce to Paris and distributed across the world. Over the years, the popularity of Beaujolais Day has grown significantly due to the media attention it has attracted. Events and parties take place in all sorts of countries, including here in Wales.
Traditionally, Beaujolais Day is celebrated on the third Thursday in November which means that this year, the event takes place on Thursday, 15th November. We’re looking forward to heading to the Madeira again where our guests can enjoy a glass of bubbly on arrival as well as a delicious 2-course lunch.
During the afternoon, we’ll be raising money for an amazing charity, The Pituitary Foundation by hosting an auction and raffle where you can win some awesome prizes! The work this charity does really is incredible – to find out more about their work, click here.
There’ll be an after party held at Dirty Martini where you can enjoy a delicious selection of very unique cocktails so make sure you bring your dancing shoes!
Tickets for this event start from £34.95 for members and £39.95 for non-members. Tables of 10 are available and trust me when I say, they absolutely fly out so make sure you get your hands on some tickets by calling us on 02920 291002 or email [email protected].
